Project outline

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust security systems where to be centralised to a central control room located within the newly constructed Bexley Wing. This control room shall be a central monitoring station where the various site wide security systems shall be linked back to one location where operators shall monitor the systems and review logs and images for various events, effortlessly and seamlessly. 

The control room shall be equipped with ergonomically designed desks and individual workstations to house desk monitors and joystick controls to enable the operators to independently view CCTV or control associated security or vehicle or pedestrian control systems through PC based integrated security management system.

Two dedicated security equipment rooms are being built, one at Leeds General Infirmary Jubilee Wing and the second at St James Hospital Becket Wing, these rooms have been designed and built for the purpose of housing the security equipment. The rooms each include 10 42u Rittal equipment racks, data containment and mains provisions. A wall of each room has been dedicated for wall mounted equipment and has been equipped with high level data containment and mains provisions.

On Completion of the Trust Wide security infrastructure
the completed control room shall house 5x80” rear projection display screens which shall give the facility to view 120 cameras Trust wide simultaneously with alarm activations controlled via the use of a Graphical user Interface
